{life as a preggers: week 12}

so now that we are in the full swing of pregnancy- I wanted to document for some family that isn't here and friends (thinking of Haley- who goes on a mission in Feb.). My sister-in-law Helen did this with her baby Charlotte, and I liked the idea. Hope you enjoy- if there are any questions you think I should add then let me know!

Movement: Not yet, heard it takes a few more weeks though!
Food cravings: York Peppermint Candies, pasta and baked potatoes.

Have you started to show yet: more this week for sure
Gender prediction: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In

Looking forward to: my next ultrasound and hearing the babe’s heartbeat!
Funny Moment of the Week: Probably forgetting things- seriously think pregnancy brain has been my worst symptom.

{Pregnancy: Finding Out}

So finding out we were pregnant was a bit frustrating.... Before we found out, we had put our names on a waiting list at our apartment complex for a 2 bed 2 bath and it quickly came up at the end of September so we took it. We figured it can stand as an office until a nursery is needed. The weekend we moved, I had a hunch that I was pregnant and went and bought some tests (a box of 5).

That Thursday, the day before we moved I took a pregnancy test: negative. I was a little frustrated but hadn't missed my period yet (I will call it P so to make everyone less uncomfortable- mainly boys lol), so just thought it was coming or too soon to tell.

Friday: We moved our apartment and Pierce's parents had mentioned buying a desk for us for house sitting in October. I took another pregnancy test to see if anything had changed: negative. Saturday was the day I was supposed to start P.

So I convinced myself that I wasn't pregnant and would know by Saturday or Sunday I wasn't and we should just go ahead and get a desk and set it up as an office space.

Saturday: no P, I would keep checking and waiting and still nothing.

Sunday: repeat of Saturday- frustrated.

Monday: still no P- took ANOTHER pregnancy test and negative. I was really mad that I was wasting practically $20 (tests are expensive!) and was pretty bugged for the whole day.

Tuesday: repeat of Saturday and the last few days. I had 2 tests left and determined that if I didn't start by tomorrow morning I would take 1 more test and that was it!

Wednesday: woke up, still no sign of that P-- took a test pratically knowing the answer when this lovely popped up:

At this point, I was needing to quickly shower and head to work. Pierce was still in bed so I went and tapped his shoulder and just showed him. He was really happy and I was frustrated that it took so dang long for it to show up! It's silly now to think how frustrated I got about it- I guess I badly wanted a positive and maybe Heavenly Father knew that I needed to learn a little patience.

I called my doctor that morning and let them know I was pregnant and they were so on top of things that I got in that day for a blood draw and to get started on all my pills (to try and prevent miscarriage- I have had 2 before). Those pills and my Dr's positivity have made ALL the difference in this pregnancy in my opinion.

{pinteresting wednesdays}

Ok so I can't believe that this past week went by so quickly. I swear the older I get, the faster my life goes by....anyway that could be a WHOLE different post and I wouldn't want to bore you with that!

Pinterest wasn't being too cooperative today so I don't have a lot of picks this week!

Yes, two of my favorite things- D.C. & Brownies.... I thought this was disgusting when I first saw it but after reading the lady's blog- I might be trying this today...

I love this pin just because I love love. This also almost makes me excited for snow, almost.

This outfit. Can you just say awesome!?! Comfy, glamourous, cute, comfy. I have decided I love comfy clothing, I would love to be a high heel type of girl but alas, I am a boot lady!

Can't believe Thanksgiving is 2 weeks and 1 day away! Bring on the holidays and 2012 (wow!).

{pinteresting wednesdays}

So as pretty much everyone now knows about Pinterest, I have decided that every Wednesday I am going to make a goal to post some of my favorite pins from that day. Whether I pinned them myself or following someone who did!

My favs of the day:

I want a sunburt mirror in our living room, and dining room and well bedroom- heck even the bathroom! I love sunburst mirrors!

Guac- um need I say more!?!

Hehe, just because this is funny and sad and demented all in one lol!

This could be THE funniest thing I've seen in a while, I feel dirty looking at it even though I know it's an arm!!

And French toast kabobs.... (sp?)....anyway, these things look so good. I need them, like now!

Ah, it even has a 'W'- we didn't decorate pumpkins this year but now I just might for Turkey Day!

Such a cute little personalized decoration, I will probably never make this (or anything I pin from Pinterest) but it's cute nonetheless!

{my new car}

So last week, we were looking over how much it would cost to get some new tires for winter and fix the power steering that had started going out and then got our car appraised.... and it was not worth anything! We would have been putting over 50% into our car by replacing the tires and power steering and then not even get it back out.....so we decided to get a new car!!! I got a 2007 Nissian Murano- it's in really great condition and has leather seats and a warranty still on it and they gave us a KILLER price! It will last us for the next 5-6 years once Pierce is out of school and then we can a get a new car but for now, this is a pretty sweet car!!

{Halloween}

Pierce usually doesn't like having holiday decorations around unless it's Christmas, but he is warming up to the idea. So he and I have been gathering some super cute and fun Halloween decorations!

This was a candle holder, which Pierce bumped into last night, so he is no longer with us but was cute for the time being haha!
Apparently I have an obsession with sparkles and glitter, so I just had to get a sparkly orange candle!
Our cute little witch!
This little mummy guy is so cute and again I loved the sparkles!
This picture doesn't do how cute this little decoration is, it's a candle holder that's a spider, but we couldn't find a cute candle to go on it and at Tai Pan they showed it with this, which was really cute!
Pierce picked out this ghost and he is super cute and simple!
Gotta have pumpkins!
Lastly, TJ Maxx has the best decorations for cheap, we found this great fall pumpkin that I will be able to use for Thanksgiving as well!

Happy Halloween!

{we've moved!}

So most of you heard that we moved- it's literally like 100 ft. away from our previous apartment. A 2 bed 2 bath came up so we took it! We really like it and I've posted some pictures below, everything is mostly set up the same as in our old place- but it's a lot more spacious and we are really liking the layout!

The dining room area is a lot bigger which is nice, it's a lot of blank white walls right now until we decide to paint or hang some things.
We now have a hallway which is nice, that closed door is our master bed and the open door is where the 2nd bed (office) is!
The guest bathroom (aka Pierce's bathroom). He did red, black and grey for Miami Heat of course! It is across from the 2nd bedroom.
The second bedroom aka the office setup!
The office, this used to be in the dining room but since it has all the utility things on it, we moved it in here for now!
So Pierce was napping in our bed when I was taking some pictures, so I will skip the master bedroom- it's the same as it was in the other place. We have a little bit more space in there though which is great! Here is our walk-in closet!
My bathroom in the master bath! I loved the curtain so did Blue & White.
So welcome to our new place! And we are up for visitors so let us know if you want to come look at it!

{i heart my sibs}

Can I just say how much I love my siblings?!?

We went to Garret's rock show the other night and while I wasn't loving the LOUD and I mean LOUD music that was playing, I was super impressed that the teachers have all praised my brother as the best in the School of Rock. And this got me thinking about how much I really enjoy spending time with my siblings.

This is a great Rock-A-Billy picture of him. It's crazy to think that he is 18, going to be graduating HS this year AND going off to college- I'm hoping USC. He is a smart cookie too, 4.0 GPA without fail and taking tons of AP classes- a little bit jealous! Anyway besides school work, this kid works his hinney off at Hires Big H and they all love him there. He pays for a lot of his own things like car insurance and phone bill which I find pretty admirable.

This little lady is my best friend in the whole world. She is beautiful and funny. We like the same clothes and get along 99% of the time. She is a pretty great soccer player and pretty much the definition of social butterfly. She is kind- sometimes too kind (liking helping some not so nice "friends" with posters and flyers and even when they were mean back and I wanted to be the big sister she taught me it was ok and it's better to be nice.) She is strong, she doesn't settle and doesn't let boys treat her unkindly which I really respect because that's not always how High School girls are. AND can you believe she will be driving in the next few months- she's pretty good too, for a 15 year old haha!

The littlest man, boy he is my example in life. Always kind and considerate (well ok not ALWAYS- he's a 13 year old). But he is always wanting to make others happy and will go out of his way to make sure no one is disappointed. Others' happiness = his happiness. He is a goof, always showing me funny youtube videos and about 80% of the time I don't get them but he is just laughing away. He is a determined little man, quiting soccer and starting up a completly new sport (LAX- thanks to the hubs) and totally proving all of us wrong by getting tough and actually scoring (twice now!). He also loves it and wants to practice everyday and does, which is something that you can't really coach. He also has been forced to make some new friends quickly which is also a really impressive talent!

Overall, I am glad they are mine and that I get to be friends and family with some of the coolest people ever!

{Pierce & the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day}

Thursday I get a call from my husband...

P: "Hi, I got a crack in my windshield and a flat tire from driving over a nail"

Now, those who know Pierce well and even not so well know he likes to tease and there was just no way that could happen to a person all in 1 day.

K: "hahahahaha, ya right"

P: "no seriously"

K: "Oh.... that sucks. (trying to make him sound a little happier) Why did you drive over a nail?"

P: click.

So needless to say, it was a horrible day for my husband....and he didn't drive over a nail, but he drove over a bolt....a big bolt.

Please notice how many fingers that bolt covers- HUGE.

After hearing amounts of $500-$800 because it is AWD (meaning you usually replace all 4 tires- something I didn't know and was not thrilled about), the lovely Jeep dealership took care of us and only had to replace 1! That was lucky.

And the crack in the windshield= not so lucky- it spread like wildfire across the bottom of the windshield and we will be leaving that for a while until we can't see to drive because replacing those are expensive!

Moral of the story: When it rains, it POURS- but everything works out in the end. Now if we could get a magic fairy to fix the crack then it would really work out :)

{the pumpkin patch}

So on Monday, we headed out to the pumpkin patch with Jeff & Liz! Here are some pictures from our adventures...sorry they were all taken with our phones so some are a little blurry.

Us finding some really cool colored pumpkins!

Pierce & Jeff maning the cart (first of 3!!)

My beautiful MIL, Liz!

The "butt" pumpkin- we found LOTS of interesting shaped pumpkins, like the pic below...

We joked that if you flip this gourd upside down, you get a porno movie haha!

More gourds!

Jeffro found some great carving pumpkins!

My husband refusing to smile normally for pictures!
This pumpkin weighed so much! I look a little funny cuz it was so heavy.
Random pic of my hubs!
That big white one on top had the coolest warts- they looked like popcorn!

Well we can't wait to carve this for Halloween and start this great fall season!

{got my hair did}

So about a week or so ago, I got my hair done! I haven't really done anything to my hair color for years so it was fun to change it up a little bit and I really like it!

I was going to do the ombre but was talked out of it by a few people so my hair guy decided to do some carmel highlights! Still secretly wanna try the ombre but that can be for another day!
