{pregnancy: end of week 32}

Here we are at the end of Week 32 (sorry this post is a little late- we were busy this week). I am feeling pretty good and we had some really nice weather a few days this week. I can't wait to take Emmett on some walks with the dogs. There is the best belly photo I could muster-- my shirt is pre pregnancy and you can probably tell because it doesn't come all the way over the bump lol.

I forgot to post that my dad got married 2 weeks ago in Maui. I wish we could go to Hawaii- a vacation anywhere would be great but it probably won't be happening til next year lol. We really like my new stepmom Mindy and think Emmett will be lucky to have another person to love and spoil him.

On Monday this week, I threw a bridal shower for a good friend from high school Erika! She is darling and we were on cheer for 3 years in high school and is marrying her sweet missionary Kelton. I didn't get any good pictures at the shower but here are some water bottle labels I made for it!

On Tuesday and Thursday this week, Pierce had 2 Lacrosse games. They won both of them by landslides (like 17-6 and then 16-1). Their team is still undefeated and I am so proud of my husband and his team. Here's hoping to winning State this year!

BABY SHOWER:
On Wednesday night, Pierce's good family friend Karey Law threw me a little get-together shower with some of their close long-time friends. We had delicious food and a TON of fun! Emmett got some great gifts from blankets and toys to some clothes and butt paste. Thank you to those who came and spoiled us!

 Not the best angle of me but it helps show how big the bump is getting!

 Karey, Me, Emmett & Granny Liz

One of the shower activities we did was wishes for Baby; everyone filled in their wants & hopes for Emmett and I just had to share a few!

 The great grannies for Emmett-- Pat and Rosie!
The Ellison Ladies: Nancy Martin, Nikki Ambler, Jenn Breinholt and Laura Ellison! Love them!

{Pregnancy: Finding Out}

So finding out we were pregnant was a bit frustrating.... Before we found out, we had put our names on a waiting list at our apartment complex for a 2 bed 2 bath and it quickly came up at the end of September so we took it. We figured it can stand as an office until a nursery is needed. The weekend we moved, I had a hunch that I was pregnant and went and bought some tests (a box of 5).

That Thursday, the day before we moved I took a pregnancy test: negative. I was a little frustrated but hadn't missed my period yet (I will call it P so to make everyone less uncomfortable- mainly boys lol), so just thought it was coming or too soon to tell.

Friday: We moved our apartment and Pierce's parents had mentioned buying a desk for us for house sitting in October. I took another pregnancy test to see if anything had changed: negative. Saturday was the day I was supposed to start P.

So I convinced myself that I wasn't pregnant and would know by Saturday or Sunday I wasn't and we should just go ahead and get a desk and set it up as an office space.

Saturday: no P, I would keep checking and waiting and still nothing.

Sunday: repeat of Saturday- frustrated.

Monday: still no P- took ANOTHER pregnancy test and negative. I was really mad that I was wasting practically $20 (tests are expensive!) and was pretty bugged for the whole day.

Tuesday: repeat of Saturday and the last few days. I had 2 tests left and determined that if I didn't start by tomorrow morning I would take 1 more test and that was it!

Wednesday: woke up, still no sign of that P-- took a test pratically knowing the answer when this lovely popped up:

At this point, I was needing to quickly shower and head to work. Pierce was still in bed so I went and tapped his shoulder and just showed him. He was really happy and I was frustrated that it took so dang long for it to show up! It's silly now to think how frustrated I got about it- I guess I badly wanted a positive and maybe Heavenly Father knew that I needed to learn a little patience.

I called my doctor that morning and let them know I was pregnant and they were so on top of things that I got in that day for a blood draw and to get started on all my pills (to try and prevent miscarriage- I have had 2 before). Those pills and my Dr's positivity have made ALL the difference in this pregnancy in my opinion.

{pinteresting wednesdays}

So as pretty much everyone now knows about Pinterest, I have decided that every Wednesday I am going to make a goal to post some of my favorite pins from that day. Whether I pinned them myself or following someone who did!

My favs of the day:

I want a sunburt mirror in our living room, and dining room and well bedroom- heck even the bathroom! I love sunburst mirrors!

Guac- um need I say more!?!

Hehe, just because this is funny and sad and demented all in one lol!

This could be THE funniest thing I've seen in a while, I feel dirty looking at it even though I know it's an arm!!

And French toast kabobs.... (sp?)....anyway, these things look so good. I need them, like now!

Ah, it even has a 'W'- we didn't decorate pumpkins this year but now I just might for Turkey Day!

Such a cute little personalized decoration, I will probably never make this (or anything I pin from Pinterest) but it's cute nonetheless!

{Pierce & the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day}

Thursday I get a call from my husband...

P: "Hi, I got a crack in my windshield and a flat tire from driving over a nail"

Now, those who know Pierce well and even not so well know he likes to tease and there was just no way that could happen to a person all in 1 day.

K: "hahahahaha, ya right"

P: "no seriously"

K: "Oh.... that sucks. (trying to make him sound a little happier) Why did you drive over a nail?"

P: click.

So needless to say, it was a horrible day for my husband....and he didn't drive over a nail, but he drove over a bolt....a big bolt.

Please notice how many fingers that bolt covers- HUGE.

After hearing amounts of $500-$800 because it is AWD (meaning you usually replace all 4 tires- something I didn't know and was not thrilled about), the lovely Jeep dealership took care of us and only had to replace 1! That was lucky.

And the crack in the windshield= not so lucky- it spread like wildfire across the bottom of the windshield and we will be leaving that for a while until we can't see to drive because replacing those are expensive!

Moral of the story: When it rains, it POURS- but everything works out in the end. Now if we could get a magic fairy to fix the crack then it would really work out :)

{quick update}

Wow! I can't believe it's been almost 2 months since I've blogged. So from a little nudge from my sister-in-law (Thanks Mel!) I am now catching you briefly up on what we've been doing since August 10th!

So August was a great month, we were enjoying the weather and no school! I decided that I was not going to go to school this fall and work until winter when I will hopefully be accepted into LDSBC Interior design program! I am really excited to start and wish me luck that I get accepted!! Pierce started school again up at the U and is really enjoying his classes. We even celebrated that he is closer to graduating than not which is also a good encouragement- he chose a U of U sticker for his car and a U of U LAX T-shirt that I later shrank (whoops!). I am really proud of him that he can work pretty much full time and go to school and still give me some free time! I think we also went to 1 Real Salt Lake game but it was the only one that whole month so that was kind of crappy.

On August 25th, the Walker family welcomed a new little baby girl! Pierce's brother Chase and his wife Helen had their first baby Charlotte Rose Walker! We wished we could be there in AZ with them but luckily my MIL was there to help! Also on the 25th, my dad has his big 51 haha ok so not really considered a milestone birthday but he got to have a colonoscopy (yikes!) but luckily he is a pretty healthy guy! So now August 25th is a great day for both sides of my family!

The next day Pierce and I headed to Michigan to help my other pregnant sister-in-law and her family move. We were there from Friday to Monday so we busted out the move and were able to then have some quality down time with Chelsea, Travis and Ava and then that Monday Travis started Law School for his second year! Here are few pictures from my phone of Ava!

I came home for 2 days and then left Pierce in Utah and headed to Arizona to see Chase, Helen and Charlotte and then for my cousin Ashlyn's wedding! I got to hang out with Chase and Helen for 2 days and kind of crash in their brand new baby lives. It was so much fun seeing my sister/friend become a mommy and I didn't mind holding that little baby for her. I can't wait to see them again at Christmas (or possibly T-Giving)! Arizona was HOT so I was thankful that we had Charlotte as the excuse to stay inside haha!

That Friday night, Chelsea my sister-in-law from up above had to have an emergency C-Section with her little boy but everything went well and both of them were happy and healthy! I guessed I didn't plan my trips so well because I was practally in MI when Helen had Charlotte and then in AZ when Liam came! We welcomed George Liam Pickup to the Walker clan and now I have to wait til Christmas to snuggle him.

Then my mom came and picked up me up and we headed to my cousin Ashlyn's wedding Saturday night. I hadn't been to AZ for years and so it was so so good to see all my mom's family that I hadn't seen for a long time.

The wedding was a blast- it was really cool that all 6 of my mom's siblings were there. My aunt Rachel is part Mexican and she made all the food for the reception and it was SO good. It was also my mom's birthday on Saturday so I think that was a fun trip for her to celebrate her 50th. We sent Ashlyn & her husband Riley off to their honeymoon and then spent Sunday just cleaning up and going through all the wedding things to return and what not then we had a big dinner at my Aunt DeAnn's house- I think there were like 27 of us. Sunday was my other Aunt's birthday so we celebrated both hers and my mom's!

Then Monday, we went shopping and just hung out with my cousins until we had to go to the airport. I was so happy to have a fun time but definitely missed my husband and puppies!

Once I got back, I've just been working and trying to continue to work out so I can lose some LBS that I've gained. Jillian Michael's DVD s have been the death of me but hopefully I can start looking like her- minus the lesbian vibe haha.

Pierce has just been super man: working, going to school, working extra hours, doing homework, taking me out on date nights, working and planning LAX stuff! I've been really impressed and a few times a little ungrateful that I don't see him as much but I know he is working his tail off for me and our family!

We've been enjoying time with Jeff and Liz, it's weird that we are the only Walker kids here in UT, when I met Pierce, his oldest brother had just barely moved and now all 3 of them live in different parts of the country! We got to go see Pierce's cousin play against BYU in Hockey a few weekends ago. It was really fun; a couple stories about that: so when Stu came out of the locker room, we were all busy snapping a few pics of him that we really didn't see what number he was. We then looked on our pictures at his jersey (easy)- number 9! We were him on and he was getting loads of playing time and even scored!!! We were escatic; he goes off the rink and some new players come in and this big fight ensues and one of the USU players ends up in the penalty box. He takes off his helmet and it's Stu! What the heck!?! Turns out, Stu was number 98 or 91 or something- still not even sure! But we had been watching the wrong player for the first period- wow that's embarrassing. Then they had a “chuck a puck” fundraiser for the BYU Women's Hockey team, you buy these styrofoam pucks and then after one of the periods, you toss them and whoever gets the closest to the center ice gets a prize. Pierce decides to buy 10 of them for us to throw. When the announcer goes onto the ice and tells people to throw them, Pierce just tries to throw them at the announcer- great! I throw my one puck and it goes perfectly to the center ice and then off a little bit. I got 3rd place though and the prize was a coupon for food- SERIOUSLY!?! A coupon for a $1 OFF food, not even free. Lame, oh well I was proud of my athleticism.

Pierce had LAX try-outs the past two days and they went really well and I think we will have a really great team this year. Sidenote: He also is the director of a LAX tournament that will be in March. He heard about a new LAX movie coming out and wondered if they would want to promote their movie at this tournament, so what does my hubby do? He calls up the producer of the movie, (mind you- this producer has done lots of well-know movies, even though I can't think of any right now haha), and talks to this guy and just had him confirm that they will help promote the tournament! Pretty proud of my man- I hate calling the Dr's office or dentist to feel like I am bugging them and Pierce just goes for what he wants!

So life has been pretty much the same everyday but yet super busy! Hopefully I can update more with some actual pictures!

{Awkward & Awesome}

Awkward and Awesome Weekend

Ok so I stole this idea from the blog The Daybook. You should check it out- Syd is the funniest and most awesome blogger. She has great ideas, giveaways and constantly makes me laugh!

Awkward:

- When you offer to hold someone's coat (someone you've known for about 5 years) while they take a picture and they just stare at you.................for about 30 seconds. Awk.

- You invite a friend to a wedding of a girl that you went to high school with. You say ok, but then think it's NORMAL to invite your girlfriend and roommate that don't know either the bride or groom. And then get mad (no correction FREAK out like a 2 yr old) when the person who invited you says they probably shouldn't just come. Ya- I didn't know people did this until Saturday.

- That during my best friend's first dance-- my husband and friend decide to say an inappropriate word pretty loudly....faces reddens.

- That I have the most massive zit on my nose today and actually thought "I want to put a diamond sticker on it- so it just looks like I pierced my nose for the day". I know I have zit issues.

- That when I leave one or two dirty clothes on the floor, my dogs insist on laying on them like a bed. "I get it! I need to pick up my clothes!" Dogs really have a way of getting me to clean.

- That while decorating the car for the Newlyweds, we put condoms on the stick shift.

Awesome:

- That when above-mentioned freaks out, you reply HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....You'll always get the last laugh. Yes!

- That funny awkward moments like talking really loud during a romantic first dance, become memories that you will think of as awesome!

- That my dogs have power over that I am so easily willing to laugh at/admit.

- That my best friend Marie got married!!

- That I have some of the greatest people ever as friends!

-That we put a condom on the stick shift while decorating the car for the newlyweds (although it was awk for them ha!)

{Jack here}

Hey everyone this is Jack! I have stolen mommy's laptop to update you on mommy, daddy and of course my life as of late (mainly mine)…. So summer is over and that means that mommy and daddy have started school; most days of the week, mommy takes me over to Grandma Cheri’s house to play with these two little friends:

Dodger and Oliver.

Boy they are lots of fun! Dodger (the other shih tzu) is a little afraid of me, because I am so tough but Oliver (cream doggie) will chase and play with me for hours. I always come home from their house and crash on the cold tile or hardwood in our house!

Other than that, I am still just being lovable, cuddly and hyper Jack!

Here are some fun pictures to admire of me :)
Me sleeping next to some shoes....they didn't even stink!
Mommy always said brushing your teeth was important- this would make her proud!
Although in this picture it doesn't show it, I LOVE taking baths and showers!

Chase and Helen have moved close to mommy and daddy so I have been to their house and let me tell you….(to mommy’s horror) I have left my mark in their place, if you know what I mean!! They just got a kitty and I haven’t met him yet, but I am sure it will be soon.

Ava and Chelsea and Travis left far away to Michigan, and although I miss Ava chasing me around- she has gotten new kitty friends to play with!

Locke, Cade and Mel also got a new puppy up in Washington! Maybe during Christmas time I can meet Marla!

Here are some of my puppy pictures of when mommy and daddy just bought me and I was small—man have I grown up and just keep getting bigger! Aren’t I the cutest thing ever!?!

Hope you all have a good week!

{Dangerous}

Theodore Robert "Ted" Bundy: an American serial killer active between 1973 and 1978. He twice escaped from county jails before his final apprehension in February 1978. After more than a decade of vigorous denials, he eventually confessed to over 30 murders, although the actual total of victims remains unknown.

Craig M. from the Bachelorette aka “Ted Bundy’s Long Lost Son”

Resemblance? I think so! And the most “dangerous” part of all of this would be…. Their mannerisms are all the same as well!!

{Just Because I am Turning 20 in a few days...}

You're a 90's kid if:

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"

You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"

You know that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off"

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You danced to "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls, Females: had a new motto, Males: got a whole lot gay-er. (so tell me what you want, what you really really want.)

You remember the craze, then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green Ranger were meant to be together.

When playing power rangers with friends you fought over who got to be who............and still all ended up being Tommy.

You remember when super nintendo's became popular.

You remember watching home alone 1, 2 , and 3........and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"

You wore socks over leggings scrunched down

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"

You played and/or collected "Pogs"

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere

You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles

NANCY DREW AND THE HARDY BOYS WERE THE BEST MYSTERY BOOKS

Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand. (pencils.notebooks.binders.etc.)

You used to wear those stick on earrings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.

You remember a time before the WB.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" ... enough said

You thought Brain would finally take over the world

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You remember when everyone went slinky crazy.

You remember when razor scooters were cool.

When we were younger:

Before the MySpace frenzy...

Before the Internet & text messaging...

Before Sidekicks & iPods...

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX...

When light up sneakers were cool.

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded stuff on VCRs & paid $3.50 for a movie.

Waaaaaaay back.

Do you remember?

Tag.

Wishbone.

Bill Nye the Science Guy

MR RODGERS!!!!

Kool-Aid was the drink of choice.

Wearing your new shoes on the first day of school.

Class field trips.

When Christmas was the most exciting time of year.

When $5 seemed like a million, & another dollar a miracle.

When you begged to go to McDonalds for dinner everyday.

When Toys R Us overruled the mall.

Go back to the time when:

Decisions were made by going 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe'.

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming 'do over!'

Money issues were handled by whoever was banker in 'Monopoly.'

It wasn't odd to have two or three 'best' friends.

Being old referred to anyone over 20.

A chance to skate as a couple at the local roller rink was like winning the lottery.

Scrapes & bruises were kissed & made better.

It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to ride the 'big people' rides at the fair.

When playing Nintendo was the hardest thing ever.

When Ninja Turtles ruled the world.

Another Baby Sitter Club and Little Sister (Karen) book came out and you put your name on hold for it at the library.

When Aladdin was new.

Sockem Boppers

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear

Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!

{something funny}

I found my new favorite website, it's called REVERENDFUN.COM and it's just cartoons, some of them are pretty stupid but then some come along that really tickle your funny bone.... for example:
