{In Honor Of Mother's Day}

In honor of Mother's day that we are celebrating this week at my house because May 9th happens to be my fiance's birthday, I just thought I would share a poem that I have always loved...it's about a common woman and why she is so great

Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.

It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,

My neighbor spoke in church the other day talking about a few weeks ago of when he met Pres. Uchtdorf on an airplane coming home from Washington DC. Anyway, this guys’ business partner wanted to somehow go up the few seats and go talk to Pres. Uchtdorf… he didn’t know exactly what to say however to break the ice. He walks over, puts his hand on his shoulder and says “I just wanted to let you know that I have a man crush on you”. Yes, to the APOSTLE!!! Pres. Uchtdorf and his wife were laughing so hard…. My neighbor also said that President Uchtdorf also was drinking:

{How 'Bout Them Jazz!?!}

So Pierce is a HUGE Jazz fan, actually saying fan is an understatment. He worships them, he is facebook friends with some of them (legit too!) and knows personal information about all of them. Instead of texting and driving, he drives and reads his ESPN app on his iphone! Anyway so because he loves them so much, I have started watching them more and more too, I have always been a Jazz fan and been to games before, but until I met Pierce I didn't do a whole lot of basketball watching. But I am glad that we do watch the games so much because I've learned tons of things about basketball and it's a great excuse to curl up and cuddle on the couch-- and it's always a different game (waay better than watching some movie we've seen 19342894 times!)

We finally did our engagement pictures and boy do they look snazzy! Here is the one we decided to pick for our announcements:



we are getting so close to our wedding date, and although it's fun to get excited about all the wedding planning, we are just mainly excited to be married and live together and not have to drive 15 mins back and forth just to see one another! We are so excited to decorate our first apartment and cook our first meals, maybe I should say burn... anyway it's just such an awesome adventure and we can't wait to fully be THE WALKERS!
