{FUNNY STORY....}

Pierce's mom and dad are currently in Vietnam working in orphanges and building schools....here is a little bit of her last letter to us.... They placed a new boy of 6 down by my feet. He was severly rigid and spastic. Large hollow eyes looked out at me and moans and grunts were all he could get out. I tried some silly songs and noises to get him to react and smile. Nothing. I tired Little Bunny Fufu with a stuffed bunny I gave him. Nada. SO I lay on my stomach next to him and even though his diaper was full and REALLY stinky I was dertemned to get a reation frw since I am a big girl lying on my stomach, it makes for a prettu inviting playground for a bunch of hyped up kids. I had a couple of them on my butt the whole time. Can’t say that I blame them. I ran out of Primary songs, songs from modern musicals, and even Christmas songs. Still nothing form the rigid friend. Now we all know that I am not a big music listener, I would much rather read. But Pierce downloaded music ontp my car ipod and one song plays over and over again as I drive to my swim class. Since I only listen to it for the 3-4 minute drive, I’ve heard it about 100 times.
So I thought what the heck. I sang it to him, poorly sung, off note and off key….but I got a reaction, ablink at first, then a smile and finally a laugh. I sang it with facial ticks and gestures about 20 times to him. I prayed that he could not understand the words, or think less of me if he did. The song? Ready for it Helen? Superstar by Brtiney Spears. Yup ,there I was singing womanizer womanizer you’re a you’re a womanizer, you a hoo hoo, you a hoo hoo…..He loved it. Britney has a new fan. Not me mind you but a 6 year old handicapped boy in vietnnam whose vacouous eyes finally reacted to a silly and trivial song Go Figure.
